Classic V completes projects faster. It would be easy to increase dredging capacity by growing the size and weight of the dredger, but at the same time you would lose the excellent mobility, which is the key feature of an amphibious multipurpose dredger.
The challenge has been to increase dredging capacity while keeping the dredger compact, mobile and robust at the same time. Watermaster Classic V combines power and functionality in a unique way.
The size of Watermaster has stayed basically the same since the first generation Classic I, but the dredging capacity has nearly tripled. The difference compared to Classic IV is 50%
Urban Dredging concept
Slice and pump the soil containing trash. The innovative Watermaster Urban Dredging Concept, includes patented technology. Enables suction dredging at debris-filled urban sites where only excavation work was previously possible.
Hard Soil Dredging Concept
Loosen and pump the hard soil. New cutter crown for hard soil. New, more powerful hydraulic motor for more cutting force. Watermaster has reached a new capacity level in hard soil dredging.
The patented Watermaster Cutting Knife System
Make the Debris Smaller
Watermaster’s Cutter Pump has a unique, patented Cutting Knife System. The ideally shaped rotating cutter blade in front of the suction mouth, together with the stationary counter blades, slice the particles into smaller pieces that will then pass through the pump and pipeline.
New Cutter Crown
With strong, freely rotating tungsten carbide shank cutter bits.
This new heavy duty cutter crown has sharp teeth – 20 extremely hard cutter bits made of tungsten carbide that efficiently loosen hard soils. The bits are freely rotating and easily changeable. The smooth blades of the cutter crown are optimized for maximum capacity – they direct the loosened soils towards the suction mouth of the Cutter Pump. Watermaster’s patented Cutting Knife System prevents oversize objects from entering the pump.
More Cutting Force
The new bigger hydraulic motor generates 25% more cutting force. The cutting force can be further increased by pushing the Cutter Pump downwards or pulling it towards the hull. The cutting angle can be freely adjusted and optimized to reach the maximum capacity in different environments. This is not possible for conventional dredgers.
Stay Firmly in Position
The new reshaped front stabilizers reduce horizontal movement while working. As a part of the Watermaster hard soil dredging concept, the front stabilizers have been reshaped to prevent horizontal movement of the hull when working. The “claws” attach to the bottom firmly and hold the machine in a steady position.
Rapid Manual Cleaning
When the blockage needs more attention, the whole Cutter Pump can be turned towards Watermaster’s own deck. The cleaning can be done by one person without assisting vessels. The easily removable cleaning plate on the suction pipe speeds things up even further. The dredging can continue quickly.
Special counter blades for urban dredging
When working in urban water areas, the Watermaster Cutting Knife System is equipped with special counter blades that significantly improve the capacity of dredging soils containing plastics and other trash. The particles are efficiently sliced into small enough pieces before entering the pump thus reducing blockages drastically.
